Why is dental implant maintenance so important?

Fayette Dental Group Cleaning

Dental implants are the devices that we place in the bone and gum tissue to replace missing teeth. Implants are the best tooth replacement that we as dental professionals can provide for you. They act as teeth whether they are replacing just one tooth or acting as anchor teeth for your dentures.

Dental implants are affected by the same bacteria as actual teeth. If you are not getting them properly cared for, they will fail like teeth do. This is why it is very important for you to brush, floss, and rinse your implants, like you do your teeth.

It is also important to make sure that you are seeing your dental hygienist as well as your dentist for regular twice a year checks and cleanings on your implants. As we all know implants can be pricey, so let’s make sure that we are protecting your investment!
